A remarkable morning at the vibrant local Carlyle Craft Market in May 2023. The atmosphere crackled with creative energy as Anne and Kate sets up their captivating booth.
The market buzzed with anticipation, a melting pot of diverse individuals eager to explore and foster a rich exchange of ideas and inspirations between Anne and Kate and fellow store holders, sparking new possibilities.
With a flurry of inquiries contact details were exchanged for future sales and projects taking shape.
As the market gradually wound down the two ladies had a sense of fulfillment from memorable human connections, inspiration, and boundless possibilities.
Today, I had the amazing experience of feeling like a bona fide author! Picture this: I stood beside my book, proudly showcased at the Mary Who bookshop, which is all about supporting local authors. Can you believe it? I couldn't stop beaming with pride! It's surreal to see my hard work come this far. And guess what made it even cooler? I totally matched the colours of my book for the event! Yay for coordination and celebrating milestones!
The eagerly anticipated book launch for Anne's enchanting children’s book “Braidie and Leoh”, with a home-schooling component, about "The Little Dogs," unfolded on Saturday, May 13th, to an overflowing crowd. The mood was electrifying as book lovers, friends, and supporters from all over gathered to celebrate the publication of Anne's literary debut.
The atmosphere was enhanced with tasteful décor inspired by the book's endearing themes. The backdrop, which was embellished with pictures of adorable dogs and joyful colours, brilliantly captured the essence of "The Little Dogs," catching the imaginations of all who attended, until the real star attractions arrived, Braidie and Leoh, who stole the hearts of the audience.
A flustered but delighted Anne, beaming with pride and joy, welcomed the attendees, expressing her gratitude for their presence. She shared heartfelt anecdotes about the book's creation, its inspiration drawn from her own pets, and the transformative power of storytelling by the stunning artwork from Chris Brunton.
The audience was captivated by Anne's passionate insight into the evolution of her manuscript and the depth of emotion she conveyed for the teaching component of her work. Laughter and applause resonating with the genuine connection Anne established with her potential and current readers.
Prior to a celebratory banquet of scrumptious nibbles that had an added interest with cup-cakes emblazed with the front cover motif on the cake’s icing, the lucky door prize was drawn. Karen Dreger was the winner, selecting a size one cute t-shirt for her granddaughter.
The book launch culminated in an applause of collective thanks to Anne for hosting the event and celebrating the birth of a literary gem that promised to touch the hearts and imaginations of readers young and old. As attendees departed, clutching their treasured copies, they carried with them the spirit of Anne's triumph—a celebration of the magic of literature and the unwavering bond between humans and their beloved little dogs.
